The Kaeaea football club held a meeting at Aria on Saturday Bth inst, at which the following officers were elected: —Patron, Mr C. K. Wilson, M.P.; president, Mr A. Smith, senr.; vice-presidents, Messrs D. Finnigan, C. J. Riddle, J. H. Brough, A. Johansen, J. H. Hearn, S. A. Riddle, W. Weiff, J. McGrath; captain, R. Hurley; vice-captain, S. Tohangaroa; management committee, Messrs W. Petersen, C. Petersen, A. Smith, junr., S. Riddle; secretary and treasurer, S. Williamson. We now have about 25 players, most of whom give promise of becoming good men. With a little practice the team sould be able to give a good accuunt of itself. We hope very soon to have the pleasure of measuring strides with Aria and Pio Pio, with which teams it has been decided to have a few rounds fo. the honour of the game, and for caps. It is unlikely that any team from here will be able to go further than Pio Pio, as we will have a hard struggle to get there the state the roads are in. We have secured Mr C. J. Riddle's paddock to play in, and have been going in for a good deal of practice, the ground being good, and the sporting spirit excellent, even the ladies turn out on fine days to watch the play. I understand that the ladies are getting up a basket social and dance for the benefit of the club. The colours are red and blue jersey, white pants, and it is to be hoped tlie j team will do their best to come out victorious over other teams, and have the pleasure of bringing home the mucu coveted caps.
