HIKURANGI COAL STRIKE.
THE COMPANY'S COMPLAINT. [BY TI.LKUKAI'II. —I'KKSS ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, This Day. In an interview Col. Holgate, managing director of the Northern Coal Company, complains that the company has been badly treated by the Hikurangi I'tiion. A bent nine, months ago an agreement was entered into between the union and the federation. Within one month of signing the men were on strike without, giving any in timation to Cue federation or directors of the company. They went back at the recommendation of the federation, but. practically (he same thing has happened en this occasion. Col. Holgate mentioned that, the cost of the strike to the company was considerable.
