HOSPITAL CONTRIBUTIONS.
SCHEME OP APPORTIONMENT. At the meeting of the Waikato Hospital and Charitable Aid Board last week, the following resolution, which explains itself, was adopted:--"That the board having found that the estimated expenditure required for capita] is £2OOO, and for maintenance of the institution and for charitable aid distribution in the district to be £IO,OOO, the board having made all deductiuns as required by the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, such deductions amounting to £4OOO, now find that the remainder to be allotted for contribution by ths Minister of Finance is £5151 10s 3d, and by the local authorities £4849 9s 9d, and the board do now declare that the several local authorities (including the Valuer-General for contributing districts in which there are no local authorities) ar.d whose namea are set forth in the following schedule, shall be liable to contribute to the expenditure as aforesaid, and that the proportion of the contribution to be made by each local authority shall be the amount set opposite the names of each local authority respectively in the said schedule, the amount to be contributed bv each being in the same ratio to the whole amount of the contributions taken together as the capital ratable value 3 of the ratable property in the district to the whole amount of all ratable property in the district and further that the board do now appoint and require that payment of the said amount shall be made on the 15th day of June, 1912, to the secretary at the office o? the board, Hood street. Hamilton." The appointment is as follows, the first mentioned figures being the. capital value, while the second figures show the amount to be levied on each district: —■

The total population of the hospital district is £55,624. It will be seen by the above figures that the King Country contributes £15171 3s Id, or very nearly one third of the whole amount.
