EM PI HE PICTURE COMPANY

A monster holiday programme of new pictures is advertised for Te Kuil-i Town Hall on Monday night, King's JrJirthday, and holiday-makers should find a lit ting wind-up to the day's festivities by spending an evening at "the pictures.'' The new series to be presented, wo, are assured, will be an excellent one—plenty of goad comics, scenic?, topical?, exciting Western thrillers, and other items will make a nrogramme that would be hard to beat. ALEXANDRA RINK. SKATING CARNIVAL. The carnival held at the Alexandra Rink on Wednesday evening was highly successful. A large number attended, and everything passed i>fT satisfactorily. Among the ladies the prize for the best fancy costume awarded to Miss Mills, who looked charming as "Queen of the luuem. Miss Kirk was awarded the prize for the best ladies' poster, while the gentlemen's comic costume prize was secured by Mr Warburton as "Baby." The gentiemen's poster prize went to R. Bowden, who represented the King Country Chronicle. The exhibitions which have been given by Athos and Read at the Rink during the week have been highly appreciated. The pair are artists in their own particular line and the opportunity of seeing them should not be missed. Tonight is the last appearance of Athos and Read at Te Kuiti.
