Own Correspondent. The Rev. R. Mitchell preached his farewell sermon to a pood congregation in thePio Pio hall on Sunday last. At the conclusion of the service Mr G. Elliott voiced the fee line; of regret which the people cS (lie hack Mocks felt in sayinf: ;:ood-hye to one who had laboured so faithfully annmj;sf them under such trying conditions for five years. Before, a doctor came to Te Kuiti Mr Mitchell had acted in that capacity at much discomfort to himself often journeyim; many miles at ni;:ht over dangerous roads in order to alleviate the sufferinps and distress of the set tiers and this without fee or reward. His memory would live in the hearts of the people. Mr 11. Pochiri sam; "Comfort, ye, My People" from Handel's " Messiah." in a masterly way.
