The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:— At the Pio Pio yards on May lat, we had, notwithstanding the wretched weather and bad state of roads, a yarding of 902 head of cattle and 1172 sheep. The cattlo were chiefly steers from one and a half years upwardß, and ere a well bred lot in splendid condition. The sheep were sound and strong or they would not have reached the yards over the muddy roads that they had to travel. Buyers were numerous, each one thinking no doubt that it was a day for bargains, consequently prices were as good as Waikato rates. AH the sheep and nearly all the cattle sold under the hammer. We quote: —Fat cows £5 to £6, forward cows £4 5s ton £4 15s, store cows £3 to £3 10a, forward 3$ and 4 year steers £7, very choice 2J to 3 year steers in fresh condition £5 10s to £6 6s, 2J to 3 year steers not quite so forward £4 15s to £5 Bs, 18 months steers £3 8s to £3 15s, 18 months heifers £3 53 to £3 10s, 2J year dairy heifers in calf £5 7s, small weaner calves 21s to 30s, veal calves 41s, full month ewes in lamb 8s to 9s 7d, 2 tooth wethers lis 6d to 13s 6d, fat and forward empty ewes 10s 9d. At Morrinsvillo on May 3rd we had an entry of 1354 sheep and 535 cattle. Good competition obtained right through, and nearly everything was disposed of at really good prices. Heavy fat wethers 17s lOd, medium weight fat wethers 15s 3d, small wethers 12s 6d, fat ewes 10s Id to 12s 4d, fat lambs shorn lis sd, forward woolly lambs 9s 6d to 10s 6d, store lambs 6s 6d to 8s 4d, fat steers small to medium weights £7 10s to £8 Ba, prime fat cows and heifers £5 15s to £6 19s, medium fattened cows and heifers £5 to £5 10s, fresh 3J year steers £2 ISs to £3 7s 6d, 15 to 18 months heifers £2 18s to £3 10b, store cows £2 10s to £3, heifers in calf to £5 12s (ul, small weaner calves 20a to 30s, better sorts to 35s 6d, dairy cows forward in calf £(? Is, bulls £3 14a to £6 18s, according to wieght. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report 33 follows : —• We held our usual tri-weekly sale in Hamilton yards on the 2nd inat. Owing to the "wet weather the advertised number of sheep did not come forward, but we. had a fair yarding of cattle and were successful in disposing of moat of them. We quote:—-Pigs, suckers 3s to ss, porkers 17s to 325, baconers 40s to 10s. Fat. wethers up to 17a, fat owes 10s Gd, forward 2 tooth wethers lis 3d, lambs 7s 3d, fat bullocks £8 15s, fat heifers £4 12s to £5 Ills, fat cows £4 15s to £5 13s, forward cows £4, 2 to 2* year steers £4 7s, 18 months steers £3 Is, 2 year heifers in calf £4 17s, springers £6 Ids to £7, calves 15s to 41s, 2 light unbroken horses £3 10s.

We held our usual monthly Bale at To Awamu 1 u yards on May 4th, when more than the advertised number of cattle came forward. Bidding was brisk throughout; and nearly all cattle ehanged bands. For Mr Cruickshank's dairy herd three was good competition, (he cows averaging .£7 10s and ll)o heifers £f> 2s Gd.
