NOTORIOUS FRENCH ANARCHIST.

BONNOT'S REFUGE MINED.

BANDIT DIES FROM WOUNDS

By Telegraph..—Press Association. —Copyright Paris, Monday.

In their search for the notorious anarchist leader Bonnot, who escaped at Avry after killing one detective and wounding another, the police surrounded an isolated house at Ghoisy le Roi, a small town on the Seine, five miles from Paris.

The bandits who were inside the building, opened fire on the police, and wounded several of those taking part in the attack. They were evidently well supplied with ammunition, and kept up a continuous fire on their besiegers, who were unable to enter the building.

A contingent of sappers was then sent for, and in a short space of time a tunnel was driven under the house.

A large bomb was then exploded under the building, which was partially wrecked. The rifle fire then ceased., and the police entered the house. They found Bonnot lying seriously wounded in one of the rooms, while near him was Dubois, owner of the house, dead. Prior to the capture an attempt was made at Grand Jean tu assault a man who was supposed to be an informer against Carouz, one of Bonnot's gang. It is believed that Bonnot was the assailant in this case.

Bonnot has since died from his wounds.
