PIO PIO MEDICAL SCHEME.

A PROJECTED CONCERT. TO BE HELD AT TE KUITI. The settlers in and around Pio Pio are taking active steps to raise the necessary funds in order to promote the medical scheme for the district. As a means to that end a concert is to be held at Te Kuiti on Thursday evening. May 16th, when both town and country performers will take part. A really good programme is being arranged, and it is anticipated the townspeople will assist generously in promoting such a deserving scheme. Pio Pio is the centre of a very large district, and it is widely recognised that the establishing of a doctor in the centre will be the means of alleviating the lot of a large percentage of the population of the out districts. Having been promised the assistance oC the Hospital Board towards the carrying out of the project the people are actively engaged in making the necessary arrangements to complete the scheme at the earliest possible time. The concert is being exceedingly well organised and something more than ordinarily attractive is promised.
