NEW ZEALAND CADETS.
A TRIP TO CANADA. From the Senior Cadets of New Zealand twenty are to have the special privilege of being selected to proceed to Canada as the guests of that country to visit the National Exhibition to be held in Toronto this year. The members of the contingent of Cadets will be chosen for proficiency in drill, physical drill, and shooting, these being the subjects in which the Cadets will come into competition with contingents from other part of the Empire in Canada. As the Canadian authorities undertake to provide all transport by sea and rail, also to board and lodge the Cadets from the day of embarkation to the day of disembarkation on the return to New Zealand, a place in the contingent will not only be a distinct honour, but will entitle the holder to a trip well worth the making from the educational and every other point of view. Five cadets are to be chosen from each military district to make up the twenty, and the Officer Commanding each district will select the five. Before sailing, the Cadets will undergo a month's training in camp in Wellington, and will leave New Zealand in time to reach Toronto on or just before August 25th next. All Cadets from the age of 16 to IS years of age who are smart in their drill, good shots with the rifle, fit for competition, and still serving, are eligible. The prize is a good one. the experience to be gained exceptional, and the honour of choice not least of all considerations.
