HORSES FOR BACK BLOCKS.

NEW MINISTERS' ATTITUDE. The Hon. G. W. Russell, the new Minister for Public Health, has made it a point to get in touch with the Hospital Boards in the various parts of the Dominion he has visited since assuming office, and is extremely anxious that the nursing system of the Dominion should be extended to the back blocks as far as possible. This important matter has already been discussed with the Taranaki and WaiKato Boards. "The Dominion must take part, and the boards will assist us in seeing that those worthy people, the pioneers in the back blocks, have reasonable attention in the matter of nursing, especially for their women folk," said Mr Russell, when discussing the matter recently at Auckland, and "and I hope to bring this question, among others, before the Auckland Board."
