MAROKOPA.
.*. Own Correspondent. A wedding of considerable local interest was solemnised at Kawhia no the 9th inst., when Lizzie, second daughter of Mr and Mrs Klein, of Kiritehere and late of Hunterville, was united in matrimony to Richard Brett, boardinghouse proprietor, Marokopa, late of Normanby, Taranaki. The happy couple are expected back from their honeymoon on 26th inst., when in celebration of the occasion, the bride's parents are holding a concert and dance. In proof of thei" popjlarity the young people have been the recipients of many congratulatory message?, and tokens of goodwill. We join in wishing them happiness and every other good wish. At the local saleyards on 16th inst.. there was a brisk demand for cattle of all sorts, and a very satisfactory sale is reported. Interest in football has again taken place. A game is advertised at an cariy date. It is understood that a late resident of Marokopa, not unknown at Kinohaku, is the heir to a large fortune. This will no doubt be gratifying to himself, his heirs, and his many friends.
