The completion of the Waitewhena road opens up the through connection beteen the southern end of the Ohura district and Aria. The honour of being the fk3t lady to drive through rests with Mrs G. Elliott, who, in company with Mr Elliott, recently made the through trip in a vehicle. On the journey through the road was found to he very rough in places, the workmen having on occasions to hold the vehicle from capsizing. Mr Klliott visited several coal seams on the route and brought back some specimens of hard bright coal.
