THE AWAKINO COUNTY.
.LEGISLATION INTENDED
In connection with the eil'orts of settlers in the Awakino County towards making the county operative, the following letter has been received from the Minister of Infernal Affairs, by Mr C. Leech, hon. sec. of the Awakino County Committee.:--"Sir,--With reference to section 2 of "The Counties Amendment Act, IfllO," in which provision is made for bringing the Counties Act into force in the counties named therein. ! have the honour by direction of the Minister of Internal Affairs to inform you that such section makes it necessary that any .Proclamation issued there under must apply to all of the counties named in the section, and .for that reason I am directed to inform you that, it is intended to introduce a Bill dealing witn the whole question next session. -—G. NEWTON, for UnderSecretary.''
