PRESENTATION TO MR JENNINGS.
MINISTERS TO BE PRESENT.
A meeting of the committee appointed for the purpose of carrying out the presentation to Mr Jennings was held in the County Chambers on Thursday evening. Communications were received from the various members of the Ministry and Mr Jennings, and it was decided to fix Friday, April 26th. for the date of the presentation.
The Hon. T. Mackenzie, Prime Minister, and other members of the Cabinet have promised to be present, as well as a number of members of Parliament.
It was decided that the presentation should be made in the 'town Hall, the function to be open to the public. The arranging of various detail matters in connection with the function was left to a sub-committee, it is anticipated that a large number of visitors will be present from the outlying districts and from the various centres throughout the electorate, including representatives of the different local bodies
A political function is to be held at Auckland on April 25th, and it is expected the Prime Minister wiii arrive from Auckland by the afternoon train the following day. Advantage will probably be taken of the opportunity to carry out the formal opening ceremony of the new Borough Council Chambers and Library at Te Kuiti, and committe will confer with the council with a view to making arrangements for the occasion.
