Hardy has decided to st.-ind for the iUayornlty, i and as Mr Hardy was a member of the ; first council and has supported me in | the various undertakings initialed by ma. and as I assume the sums policy will be continued in the future as in the past, there does not appear to me to be any occasion for a contest —unless a personal one —and as I have no personal motives to consider in the matter, I have decided not to nominate. In making this announcement ! wish very heartily to thank those nembers of the council who have loyilly supported me, and also all my friends who have expressed their desire that I ahould stand again.
