The following shows the arrivals and departures at Auckland during the last twelve months, the total departures being 70 in excess of the ar-rivals:-April, 1911, 914 arrivals, 1656 departures; May. 910—1450; June, 943 August, 869—1106; September, 1382 —1416; October, 1143—982; November, 1150—767; December. 1934 137; January, 1912, 1952—1366; February, 1196—1296, March, 1137 1628; totals, 14,522 The number of steerage passengers leaving Auckland for Sydney by the regular weekly steamers is still considerably in excess of the number arriving from Australia in that class. This shows an excess of 178 in the departures over arrivals for the fortnight.
