The Easter holidays passed quietly in the district Though the weather was dull and threatening the rain held off until late on Monday night, when a steady downpour set in. Referring to the recently published accounts of the difficulties of obtaining medical and nursing asisstane in the back blocks, the Inspector-General wrote to the Waikato Hospital Board saying that it had never been the policy of the department to ask the co-operation of the boards in establishing a system throughout their districts in order that to a certain extent, the difficulties of settlers may be somewhat minimised. He would be glad of the co-operation of the board in bringing the system into working.
