A pleasing function took place at the County Chambers, To Kuiti, on Thursday evening, when Mr G. I'. Finlay, County solicitor, was the recipient of a handsome present on the eve of his approaching marriage. Mr A. Scholes, County chairman in a felicitous speech on behalf of the members of the Council, made tho presentation and explained that owing to the departure of Mr Finlay taking plrvce earlier than was expected, it whs impossible to get more members together.
