OHURA A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

R W. SANDISON ELECTED LIFE MEMBER. Owing ,to inclement weather and the consequent unfavourable conditions of the season, the Ohura A. and P. Association decided to postpone their second annual show from Thursday last, until the last Thursday of January, 1913. Mr J. Risk who proposed to that effect, said the unseasonable weather experienced would prevent many from bringing their stock to the showground in show condition,. The roads were also too bad to ensure an attendance of the outside public. The motion was seconded by Mr Hutton, who thought that, although a certain amount of expenditure had been incurred that.it would be wiser to lose that amount than have the show a financial failure. The Association have decided to take step 3 to obtain a portion of section 2 A, Waipu aa a site for a showground from the Taranaki Land Board. At this juncture Mr Hutton occupied the chair, when Mr J. Risk moved and Mr T. J. Brennan seconded that Mr Sandion be made a life member of the association in appreciation of his services aa president and secretary, and that the sum of £5 5s be donated to him. The motion was carried unanimously. Mr Sandison, in reply, thanked the committee for the great honour done him by electing him the first life member of the asscciatoin. He had always been actuated by the fact that such associations were good for the welfare of the farming community and he felt sure that in the future the Ohura association would be of a great benefit to the district.
