HANDICAPS. A. B. POSTLES TO COMPETE. The forthcoming meeting of Te Kuitl Sports Club promises to take &nk as a noteworthy gathering. In addition to the presence of the champion chopper, D. Pretty, and the variety infused into the gathering by the highland events, the public will have an opportunity of seeing in action the greatest living sprint runner, Arthur B. Postles. The crimson streak as the Australian flyer is popularly called, is fresh from his victory over his famous fellow Australian, J. A special meeting of the club was held in the Chronicle office last evening It was resolved that as the Doamin ground was in such bad order, the sports meeting should this year be held on the racecourse, permission having been obtained from the Racing Club and the A. and P. Association. _ Resolved that the charge for admission be! Outside g3ts Is, grand stand 6d extra. Messrs N. B. Lusk and H. Rothery were appointed ground stewards and were empowered to expend what is necessary to put the track into good order for the athletic events. Mr T. Williams consented to act as gate steward. The matter of appointing judges was left in the hands of Messrs Matthew, Trinnear and the secretary. The following were appointed to a sub-committee to manage the chopping events: Messrs Albrechtsen, Hitchcock, Forsyth, Berkahn, and McColl. The next meeting of the committee will be held in the Chronicle office on Tuesday,' March 26h, at 7.30 p.m.
