TE KUITI A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

A general meeting of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held in the County Chambers last night Mr W. Gadsby, president, occupied the chair. The secretary presented the balancesheet of the recent show, the position being considered highly satisfactory in (lie circumstances. Notwithstanding fhe had fortune experienced in the iiKifler of weather, it is anticipated the show will result in only a slight loss, providing the unpaid subscriptions and contributions are collected.

The new rules werH read and adopted, and authority to borrow was given. The chairman announced that arrangements had been made to meet the liability to the Racing Club and the necessary documents were signed. A protest by T. Bond against the second prize being awarded to J. Francis' horse in Class 30, was upheld according to the printed regulations. Special references was made to the manner in which the had worked for the success of the show, and, on the motion of Mr Mussen, seconded by Mr Matthew a hearty vote of thanks was recorded on the minutes of the association, also to be conveyed to the secretary of the ladies committee. The secretary announced that several prize winners had handed their prize-money to the assqeiation. The action was prompted by a desire to assist, in view of the bad luck experienced, and would doubtlesß be highly appreciated. —A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the exhibitors for their generous action, the same to be conveyed to them by the secretary.
