Sir Joseph Ward informed an interviewer yesterday that he had no intention of accetping a portfolio m the new Ministry. In connection with the Defence Act be stated he was against imprisoning bovs for breaches of the Act The law required altering in order to make"the Act quite clear that imprisonment cannot be ordered It seemed to him the system could be maintained in its integrity by removing what at present is creating strong antagonism in various parts of the Dominion.
