ATHLETICS.

The programme for the Mangapehi sports meeting, which appears in another column of this issue, will be found of a highly attractive nature. In a programme of twenty events, variety is naturally looked for, and in the case of Mangapehi the conditions governing sport, both locally and in a general sense, have been fully considered. Chopping events are prominent, but running and leaping are also well catered for, while the committee, and general public who are not athletic, are not forgotten. Altogether the bill of fare is distinctly attractive and the meeting should be well patronised.
