APPEAL UPHELD. [HY Tltf/KGRAI'H. —I'HKSS ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, This Day. The Railway appeal Board upheld the appeal of K. Harrison, clerk on the permanent way at Newmarket, against the withholding of the annual increase in his salary. Mr Blackburne, chief clerk of tho district engineer's office, stated that it was not considered the work appellant was doing was worth more than he was receiving. The chairman said it would be a dangerous precedent if the board endorsed tho right of the department to say a certain position was worth only so much money.
