ELECTRIC LIGHT.
To the Editor. Sir, —My attention has been drawn to a letter in which the writer states "I had no thought 0 f opening up afresh the electric light controversy." and there certainly was r,o occasion for his doing so, seeing that the ratepayers themselves have decided the matter, but the fact remains that lie did so, and had he confined himself to the bare press wire I would have taken no notice of it, but when he makes use of it to get a thrust at "its advocates," I think it is time for tham to be heard. The press wire was necessarily short, and had he given the whole facts, there would have been no necessity for me to do so, but he confined himself to the half truth which, to use his own expression, "ia generally more contemptible and often more dangerous than a deliberate falsehood," I gave the full facta, and while he has taken up nearly half a column of your space making insinuations against myself, he has not attempted to deny the truth of my statements. The latter part of his letter where he compares himself to an Angel's wing is too ridiculous to require any comment from me.—l am, etc., M. W. FORSYTH.
