Newton King reports:— At Pohokura for my annual sheep fair I had a good yarding of sheep and a good attendance of buyers. Bidding throughout was very good for all classes. The whole yarding (with the exception of two small pens) cleared after the sale, being sold at tho hammer at the following rates:— Lambs, best 5s Gd to 6s Id poor Is 4d to 3s Bd, 2 tooth wethers lis Id, 2 and 4 tooth, poor 9s 4d, 4 and 6 tooth wethers 13s lOd, 4 tooth wethers 12s Sd to 13s lOd, 4 tooth ewes 9s lOd, 4 and 6 tooth ewes 13s 3d, mixed 2 tooth sheep 10s Id, f.f.rn. ewes 5s 9d to 8s 9d, old ewes 2s to 4s 6 d, Lincoln rams Ign, Romney rams 2 to 2} gns. At Kohotu, I had heavy entry of all classes, all pens being well filled. I also had a good attendance of buyers. The enquiry for weaners was better than at previous sales and good business was done during the after noon, practically every ' lino being cleared. Prices: Best mixed weaners 21s to 31s, 'others ISs to 19s 6d, Jersey weaner heifers 30s, weaner steer 12s to 275, IS month steers £2 12s Gd to £3 4s 6d, IS month heifers £2 lis to £3 2s, bull £1 to .£2 17s, store cows £2 ISs to £3. forward cows £3 14s to £4 sa, fat and forward cows £4 lis, fat cows £4 10s to £4 15a, 2 tooth ewes 12s, fat lambs 9s Gd, store lambs 7s 3d.
