LAWN TENNIS.
On Saturday last Te Kuifci Lawn Tennis Club were called upon to defend their rights to holding the Howard S hieid, Mangapehi being the challengers. The local team, though considerably weakened by the absence of several of their premier players, managed to retain the Shield. The games resulted as follows, Te Kuiti being mentioned first in each
