ELECTRIC LIGHT.
To the Editor. Sir,—ln view of the proposal to install electric light in Te Kuiti and the glowing accounts given by some of its advocates as to how the Stratford people were about to acquire the Electrical Company's business and run it as a municipal undertaking, the following Press Association wire will be read with interest:—"A poll on the proposal to borrow £15,000 to acquire the Stratford Electrical Supply Company's business for the borough resulted in 62 voting for and 310 against the proposal." From this it will be seen that whatever the ratepayers of Stratford may think of it as an illuminant, they have declared in the most emphatic manner that after twelve years' experience they will have nothing to do with it as a municipal enterprise.—-I am, etc., JAMES BODDIE. Te Kuiti, February 26tb, 1912.
