Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as foliows: — On Tuesday, 13th inst., we held our usual Ohaupo sale, when a small entry of cattle came forward. The sale throughout was slow and dragging, but we were successful in disposing of most of the lines after the sale. Quotations: —IS month to 2 year steers £4, 15 month uteers £3 ss. On Friday, 16th inst., we held our annual Ohaupo sheep fair, when the entry came well up to advertised numbers most cf which, with the exception of 2 tooth swe.3 and wethers, sold readily under the hammer. There was keen competition throughout for both lambs and aged ewes, especially for the former, which sold well in advance of recent sales. Quotation": — 2 tooth wethers 12s 6d to 13s 3d, 2 tooth ewes 13s 3d to 14s sd, 4 and 6 tooth ewes 13s to 13s 9d, fresh full mouth ewes 13* 3d to 133 6d, sound mouth ewes 9s 6d to lis lOd, culls 7s to Ss 7d, shorn lambs 6s 4d to 8s 7d woolly lambs 83 9d to 9s 7d. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report: — At Te Kuiti yards on 14th inst., we had a yarding of 2600 sheep and 1450 head of cattle. Competition was very dead and prices were low, consequently a large number of stock remained unsold. Fleshy 21 to 3h year steers were required, but only a few pens were sold as owners generally were asking above market quotations. Store lambs, shorn, made 4s 9d to Gs 3d, good woolly lambs 7s 3d to Ss 6d, smaii 2 tooth wethers 10s 3d to 12s, forward 4 tooth wethers 14s 3d, very choice 2 tooth ewes 13s to 15s, smaller 2 tooth ewes 10s 3d to lis 36d, f.f.m. ewes 7s 6d to 10s 6d, fresh conditioned 3J year steers £6 5s to £7 73, choice 2S year steers £4 15s to £5 Is, fat cows £4 10s to £5, yearlings £2 15s to £3 ss, weaner calves 36s to 40s, 18 month steers £3 5s to £3 10a, fleshy cows £3 15s to £4 10s. At the Hamilton yards on 15th inst. we had an entry of 1175 sheep, chiefly fats, TO 2 pigs, 170 fat cattle, and 222 store cattle. All classes of stockwere easier in price and competition was very s'ack. Small weaner pigs sold from 7s to 10s, better sorts 12s to 14s, slips 21s to 265, porkers 33s to 40s, fat wethers 15s to 15a 9d, fat ewes 9.3 9d to 13s 9d, fat lambs lis 6d to ]3s, store ewes 8s to 9s 3d, cull ewes 6s, fat steers £7 7a to £8 9s, about 15s below late sales, fat cows and he if erg £5 to £5 15s, aged fat cows £4 5s to £1 15s, meaty old cows £3 15s to £4, fresh 2\ year steers £5 Is, yearling steers £2 15s to £2 18s, weaner calves 30s to 375, springing heifer 3 £1 15s.
New tun King reports: At my Whangamomona yard 3 on 10th inst., the full number of sheep and cattle were penned. Bidding at the hammer was good for most cattle, but was rather dull for sheep, although practically every pen was cleared after the sale at satisfactory prices. Quotations: —lb month heifers £3, 15 to 20 month steers £3 6s to £3 103, 2 year steer 3 £1 4s to £3 year steers, good line £4 12s, 4, 6 and f.m. ewes 13s, 4 and 6 tooth ewes 10s 6d, f.m. ewes 6s to 8s lid. At my Rahotu sale on Tuesday 10th inst., I had only a fair entry of cattle, which, with the exception of one pen of fat cows, were sold at the hammer at the following prices: Coloured sceers £2 4s, mixed weaners 15s, 15 month steers £2 103 to £2 19s, store cows £2 9s to £3 93, forward cows £3 19s 6d to £4 4s, fat cows, prime £5 3s to £5 7s 6d, bulls £3 8s 66, fat stag £5 18s.
