THE AGRICULTURAL SHOW.

Show Day has come and gone and has left the majority of members in a tired, but fairly happy, condition. All things considered, the Association is to be congratulated upon the reßult of the undertaking. The majority '.of those who took an active part in promoting the Show did not realise the great amount of work which had to be got through in order to carry the function to a successful issue. However, ably led by the president, there was no lack of volunteers, and the manner in which the work was accomplished was convincing proof that both heart and hand wen* engaged. If the men were thoroughly in earnest it is no less true that the ladies who

were organising the Home Industries section were makinga great ell'ort, and a high tribute, must he paid them for their work. The value of an Agricultural and Pastoral Show in such a district as ours cannot be too highly emphasised. In every respect, it is of assistance to the farming community, and with such a great district becoming rapidly developed the importance of producing the best class of stock is too apparent to require reiteration. The educational value of the Show just held will be of service in many respects, and the incentive to breed up to the standard shown will create a spirit of friendly rivalry among our settlers that will do much to further the prosperity of all.
