AMUSEMENTS.

PRINCESS PICTURES

Full houses greeted the pictures shown on Wednesday and Thursday evenings., a film entitled "The Two Orphans" being the star picture on each occasion, and was jne of the best of this style that has been shown here. An assortment of dramatic and comics filled the rest of a splendid programme, which was well shown.

EMPIRE PICTURE COMPANY

The very fine programme to be shown at Te Kuiti Town Hall on Monday evening by the above company has been attracting big audiences during the week in Hamilton and Cambridge, and is highly spoken of by the press in both those towns. The Mercer regatta picture is said to be a splendid one. and shows what can be done locally in the art of cinematography. The Maori canoe races, obstacle races (with their many funny incidents), the arriv.il of the excursion train at Mercer, the beautiful stretches of water, launches, picnickers on the banks, etc., ara all clearly and interestingly shown, and evoked cheers from the big audience in the Hamilton Town Hall on Wednesday. The programme will be shown here in its entirety on Monday evening.

ORGAN recital

A very attractive and interesting programme has been arranged for the above unique entertainment which is to eventuate next Tuesday in the Town Hall. The music selected by Mr Paul de Ridder, the accomplished organist, covers a wide range and should be both educative and enjoyable and acceptable to all tastes. Among the many fine pieces to be rendered will be the "Hallelujah Chorus," quite an attraction in itself. It is hoped that all lovers of inspiring music will avail themselves of the opportunity presented in the recital. The vocal and instrumental items interspersing the programme are also by hte best local talent, and those attending are assured of a very fine musical effort at popular prices.
