"That is what is left, my dear sir,' said Sharpe, "after taking out my fee, the costs of appeal, and othei jxpfnscs." Boots regarded the shilling for a noment, then, looked at Sharpe. "What's the matter with this ?' M asked, 'biting it. "'ls it bad?"
