Five revolutionary generals, ineluding Alfare, arrived at on Sundayandwcre immediately impiisoned. When the populace learned of their arrival a mob of live thousand attacked the guards, who lireil a volley killing several. 'l'he nuib lore down a portion of the walls of the jjaol and dragged the generals from their ccllh. They were killed along with other prisoners supporting the revolutionaries. The bodies were dragged through Die street;' to San Diego cemetery where they vvere burnt. Tremendous losses were sustained by both armies in the battle at Yaquach on the Kith insl.
