ROMAN CATHOLIC PICNIC.
The annual picnic in connection with the Roman Catholic Catechism at Te Kuiti was held on Thurs|Hay last at Mr Scholes' farm HangaA large number left by train ■tomTe Kuiti in the morning, and *he paddock kindly lent for the occasion was found to be an ideal picnic ground. The weather, which was threatening in the morning, cleared up beautifully as the day advanced, and a most enjoyable time was spent. A sumptuous lunch was provided by the ladies, and a programme of races was got through during the afternoon. The married ladies' race was won by Mrs K. Cotter, with Mrs Keogh second The married men's race went to. F. Tierney, after a great race with Pf Cotter. All the youngsters events were keenly contested. The committee desire to express their thanks to Mr and Mrs Scholes for their hospitality, and a special word ot nraise is due to Mrs Keogh and her assistants, and also to Mr Pat. Cotter and his assistants for their invaluable services during the day.
