At the wool sales to-day over 20,000 bales were catalogued, comprising most of the best known Otago clips. The demand for wool of all descriptions was exceedingly keen, especially in the Continental section, the market tending to harden, especially for wools suited to America. The advance in some cases is quotable at Jd per lb The record price of 13Jd per lb was secured for nine bales of merino, grown bv Mr Richard Mitchell, of Waipori.
