CRICKET.
The game which was played at Te Kuiti Domain on Thursday last between A and B teams revealed the fact that the club has any amount of talent to provide two very good elevens. The form shown on both sides was promising considering that there hasbeen little opportunity for practice. With the bat Owen performed well and exhibited a sound knowledge of the game, while his form behind the wickfis was indication of a high degree of merit, when a little practice has been obtained. Garth, Martin, Pattison, Wallace,Simmons and others all showed good batting form, while Pattison was remarkably smart in the field besides shaping well with the ball. Among the bowlers Lusk showed that he had not forgotten the trundling art, while Taylor and Wal ace bowled steadily and well. Other good bowling talent was noticeable, but several of the players have not yet developed the faculty of finding a length. The first essential to a bowler is finding a length and once this has been overcome the foundation is laid for the making of a champion.
