KIRITEHERE-MOEATOA.
Own Correspondent. A petition has been drawn up, asking the Miniater for Internal Affairs to secure that part of the Marokopa township which is privately owned, and have it placed upon the market as Government property; also to consider well sites and conveniences having it plotted out, so that every purchaser may enjoy to the fullest all local conveniences of location to road fronttage, water, etc.
Our little brown brother takes cheerfully to gardening and annually produces excellent crops of melons, which he retails at a good profit to the poor pakeha. An extra cream vat has been pro•cured for use at the factory, as owing to the shocking state of the roads it is impossible to run the cart oftener than three times a week; consequently when the cream comes along the • capacity of the vat in U3e ia overtaxed. The monthly pay-sheet at the factory is gradually creeping up, as new suppliers are coming in, there now being 25 supplying shareholders, which must be considered very satisfactory for a start. The quantity nf wool shipped frohi this part is steadily increasing, the quality of the wool also improving.
