NEW SOUTH WALES PARLIAMENT.
- ♦ SPEAKER AND HANSARD STAFF By Telegraph.—Press Associal ion.-- Cop.vrieht Received January 12, 10.30 p.m. Sydney, Yesterday. A large mass of correspondence was submitted to the Royal Commission of Enquiry in the dispute between Speaker Willis and Mr Robinson, head of the Hansard staff. In the course of a lengthy statement Speaker Willis said Mr Robinson had been in the habit of controlling previjus Speakers, and members objected to him exercising authority over the Speaker. Mr Robinson's suspension rested upon his insubordination in not carrying out instructions and in writing letters derogatory, and belittling and disrespectful to the head of his department. Mr Robinson read long reply claiming he had not flouted the Speaker and stating he had implicitly obeyed all his instructions.
The Cotnmisison was adjourned
