J. O'SULLIVAN DEFEATS C. RODGERS. A chopping match of more' than usual interest was brought off at the Te Kuiti Domain on Thursday afternoon, when J. O'Sullivan and C. Rodgers met in an underhand chop for £SO a side A deal of rivalry has existed between the two men for some time past, and each side numbered many supporters. Both men had trained for the event and each stripped for the fray in first-class condition The judges for the event were Messrs Albrechtsen, Forsyth and Cotter, and Mr Forsyth also officiated as starter. The blocks were 15-inch kabikatea. The event was won by O'Sullivan in 59f seconds, his opponent finishing close behind him. Another match under similar conditions has been arranged by the pair, to be brought off at Mangaroa on March 28th.
