SEX OF THE GUINEA FOWL.
Many people have a difficulty in distinguishing the sex of guinea fowls. The following points are worth noting:—l. In trie male the skin of the eyelid is blue. 2. In the female the skin of the eyelid is red. 3. In the male the little beard under the face of the bird is bluish bordered with red. 4. In the female these are entirely bright red. The horny top of the head is larger on the male than in the female, and the white skin of the head descends much lower on the male. It is the hen which utters the distinctive cry.
