TE KUITI BOROUGH COUNCIL.
A meeting of Te Kuiti Borough Council was held on Monday evening. There were present: His Worship the Mayor, Crs Lusk, Tammadge, Sims and Forsyth. CORRESPONDENCE. H. H. Metcalf wrote intimating his willingness to undertake any work for the borough. He wished to learn under whose specifications the work was to be carried out. —Received. R. H. Travers wrote asking for particulars as to the road the council wished him to form in order to have specifications drawn up. —Received. J. A. Johnston wrote withdrawing liis tender for permanent levels.—Received.
A. S. Gresham asked permission to re-erect signboard.—Granted subject to usual conditions.
J. W. Kealey, Auckland, wrote enclosing a li3t of books for library.— Received.
Crs Tammadge and Sims were deputed to attend to the furnishing of returns in order to secure the usual Government subsidy for the library. The Under-Secretary for Internal Affairs wrote intimating that the sum of £250 being Coronation subsidy payable in respect to the cost of the library and reading room had been approved for payment. —Received. The engineer forwarded his scheme of reticulation. —Referred to Works, Water and Drainage Committee. TENDERS. Ward street, W. J. Kearne£l34; J. T. Wells, £122 10s (accepted). Te Kumi bridge, D. McDonald £179 (accepted). The Steel Spiral Pipe ■ Co. wrote with respect to payment of the pipe account.—Received.
