HUDDERSFIELD BELLRINGERS' BAND ; The visit of the above band on Friday and Saturday next, January 12th and 13th, to Te Kuiti, should prove a great treat to residents of the district. Champions in their art, the band have had the honour of winning 13 contests out of 14, and now hold the title of champions of Great Britain, which practically means the world. The band has had the honour of appearing before the late King Edward on two occasions, and he exrpessed his appreciation of the magnificent manner in which these Huddersfield working men have revived the oldest form of music the world knows. Besides playing popular airs the band's repertoire includes marches, hymn tunes and selections from the famous operas. After a remarkable run at the London Hippodrome the band were engaged bj Messrs J. and N. Tait to tour Australia and New Zealand, and opened their tour at Christchruch like the famous Bessies o'th Barn, and so far, it is said, are meeting with great success. Assisting the band are several well known English artists, including Miss Ella Airlie, the charming young pianologuiat, mimic and xylophonist; Miss Lilian Bennett, the eminent soprano: and Mr Geo. Campbell, the favourite humorist and xylophonist.
