THE AFTERMATH
At the Magistrate's Court on Thursday morning, before Mr F. O'B. Loughnan, S.M., a number of charges were brought forward against those who infringed the laws of sobriety on election day. The excitement cause'! wH3 nut only as the result of a lubricant, but as the result of feeling. His Worship wag in a lenient mood, and was prepared to overlook election matters, and (hose charged with being "overfull" got dealt with accordingly. "Being tight" was not the only offence of the days proceedings; strong language was in the air, a fact which the Magistrate objected to, by inflicting a penalty. "It was election day, your Worship," was the general plea, and so recognised the Magistrate. However, he was not in favour of bad language, and severely commented on such a method of imparting knowledge
