A sign of the times is apparent in Rora street, where Mr McColl, hairdresser and tobacconist, will be seen to have removed to more commodiouß and up-to-date premises. For some timri past Mr McColl lias been at a great disadvantage by being cramped for room, hence the removal to those new and roomy promises recently built for Messrs Lorigan and Co. The window is dressed with a most enticing display, .suitably arranged, of the latest Christinas cards, etc., and smokers' requisites are to be obtained inside at moderate prices, to suit all tastes. The saloun has four chairs ho that clients need havo no fear of not being able to obtain a clean and pleasant shave or haircut by experienced tradesmen, without much delay. A visit is invited.

The old and favourite tale of "Red Riding Hood" is next week to be enacted before To Kuiti public. Mrs Darrow and Mrs Stanton have for some time past • been carefully instructing their band of "merry children," who are all proficient in their different parts and with the assistance of g-andmother, woodman and wolf, hope to succeed in pleasing their parents and friends. Their bright and appropriate costumes have been prepared by the St. Luke's Ladies' Guild and a very pretty and pleasing result may he confidently expected.
Some indication of the work necessary to conduct a political campaign in this electorate may he obtained from the fact that Mr C. K. Wilson, since beginning his tour of the electorate. has ridden i) 00 miles, walked 50 miles, and travelled 400 miles by train. In the course of his travels lie addressed no less than meetings. A tribute to the new member's energy lies in the fact that after successfully concluding his, own campaign lie took the field on behalf of Mr Hockley, the Reform candidate for Waitnarino, and addressed meetings at Ohakuno and Rangataua.
Attention is directed to the fact that nominations for all events at the Kiliihi Hack Racing Club's meeting close with the secretary at !) p.m. to-night.
