At Pio Pio or, December (Uh wo had an entry of (i'.M head of cattle, nearly all 2 and 2\ year steers of a good clasa. Competition was hrisk and with few exceptions the yarding was cleared. Two year steers ranged from £4 up to £5 for particularly well-bred fresh cattle, 3 and :U year steers £6 4s to £0 10s, fat cows £o' 6s, choice yearling steers to £3 10s, 1A to 2 year heifers £3 I*3 to ,£1 15s. yearling h p ifer £3 to £3 ss. At Hamilton on December 7th, we had an entry of 11S pigs, 2350 sheep, 207 head of fat cattle, and 574 steer cattle. Fat sheen were easier, f»t, cattle were yarded beyond requirements and prices were lower for steers, fat cows sold and heifers sold better than steers, store cattle selling at late quotations. Pigs were very dear, weaners making 15s to ISs, «!ips 26c, to 335, fat ewes 12s to 1 Is (id, tat wethers 15s to His Od, fat lambs lis lid to 12s, 2 tooth ewes and wethers 13s 3d, store 4 tooth wethers 1 is 2d. woolly hoggets 17s F the Oisborne ewes made from 12s 3d to 13s, fat steers £7 5s to £lO 5s according to weight and quality, fat cows £5 5s to £7 15s meaty old cows £1 to £-1 10s U to 2 year steers £1 to £1 lis 2 year dairy heifers £-1 2s M to £5 ]r, to 18 months heifers £3 15s to £1 oh yearling heifers £3 to £3 7s 6d 15 months" steers £3 10s to £3 !5s good yearlings £3 5s to £3 10s smaller sorts £2 15s springing dairy heifers
