A sitting of tiio Mngistram's Court will bo held in To Kuiti to-morrow. The next gathering of King Country old identities will he held on Friday evening next. A large attendance, is expected, and considerable interest is already being manifested in what is felt to be a reunion that will cement bonds calculated to draw together elements which will operate for the bonelit of the whole district. Mr G. Phillips, in conversation with a reporter a few days ago, Haid that he intended to alter the methods of his brick-making plant from the old hand, system, and install a plant tu bo driven by machinery. "This move," he concluded, "is practical proof of my confidence in Matierc and the Ohura. Mr C. K. Kesidenis of Olorohanga and surrounding district are hopeful, now that a slationmaster has been appointed, that tho department will make considerable improvements: to the station. The goodshed there is not large enough for tho requirements of the district, and it in to be hoped that the department will recognise the immediate necessity of satisfying settlers' needs.

He said he was very satisfied with his deal, as he had considerable amount of faith in the Olovohanga district.

Although delay is taking pla.ee as regards the connecting of the water supply mains with private houses at To Kuiti, the supply has been very serviceable in combating the duat nuisance. The roads in the back districts are not as good as they might be for this time of year, due no doubt to the boisterous weather experienced during the past three or four weeks. Shearing has been considerably delayed, and v jt is anticipated that in most parts of the district operations will run well into next month. Farmers report that the fieeca3 are rather deficient in yoke owing to so much rain.
The Pio Pio dairy factory ia having a very good run this season, and up to the present the supply is in excess of the quantity received during the corresponding period la3t year. Similar reports come from Aria. There is no doubt that buih factories this season will have a considerably increased output, and should prove a good source of revenue in both districts.
The majority, and. in fact, all the bush contracts in the various parts of the district have been completed. The largest areas felled were in the Paemako district where some big blocks were cut out.
An evidence of the requirement? of the travelling public is manifested by the fact that two of our local boarding houses are having extensive additions made, whilst a new boarding house has just been completed. All the houses are fairly full at present It is anticipated that there will be another big rush after Christmas similar to that experienced previously.
An important auction sale of saddles, bridles, harness and pack-saddles (new and second-hand) will be held at Mr Graham's mart on Saturday, 16th inst. Goods will be on view at the mart on the morning of the sale. Instructions are to absolutely clear the line.
Attention is drawn to Messrs St. Hill, Brathwaite and Go's. Te Kuiti horse sale, which is advertised for Saturday next at 1 p.m. A large entry has already been received and it is anticipated good competition will ensue for the horses entered.
In supplying the voting figures for Mangapehi at the general election a mistake crept in, tha totals appearing as—Mr Jennings 53, Mr Wilson 36. The figures should be reversed.
