CORRESPONDENCE.
oTo the Editor. Sir, —I regret having wounded the tender feelings of your own Tangitu scribe in repeating his remarks about Messrs Dagerman and Coldstream. Your own has asked me to find out the truth of such matters before rushing into print. Any school boy under- ; stands that I state the real truth about these two gentlemen who, I claim, as do many others in this settlement, are ! very very punctual in paying out money due to the settlers. Your own has evidently read my explanation upside down. Very rarely has payment : been made seven days after the time goes in, as he states; More often has ; it been from ten to twelve days after j measuring up. Why is it your own has only .just awakened from a lung : silence and contempt for newspaper , gossip? May I also ask where doe- | he obtain all his wisdom, and where | does he gather his information ; from? We all know who he is. j Thanking you in anticipation.---I am, etc., ' SETTLE R. |
