OTOROHANGA TOWN COUNCIL.
A meeting of the Otorohanga Town Council was held on Monday in the council's ofike. Present Messrs J. Ormsby (chairman), Hari Ilemara and H. J. Osmond.
A letter was received from the Under-Secretary of Native Affairs, informing the council of Mr VicaryN appointment as a member of the Town Council. It was observed that Mr Vicary had been gazetted a member of the Te Kuiti Council instead of the
Otorohanga Cou:,cil. Liability for Rates.--Tim clerk was instructed to write informing Mr Tateson that be is liable for the rates.
Ragwort. —A letter was received from the Inspector of Noxious Weeds re allowing sheep tu graze on the roads to keep the ragwort in check. The clerk was instructed to acknowledge receipt of letter which would receive due consideration.
Cierk for Council.--It was decided to advertise once in the King Country Chronicle inviting applications for the position of clerk to the council at a salary of £2i> per annum, applications to be sent to the chairman on or before November 25ih, li'll.
New By-law.—lt was decided to hold a special meeting to pass a bylaw to control itinerant traders.
Engineer to Report.—The clerk waa instructed to write to the board's consulting engineer at llamilton asking
