ELECTION NOTES.

Mr C. K. Wilson, the selected Opposition candidate, in the absence of Mr W. F. Massey (leader of tin- Opposition) delivered an address ni

Taurnarunui on Thursday evening. The candidate spoke on the lines of his previous addresses, and received an enthusiastic and attentive hearing. The meeting was presided over by the Mayor, Mr W. H Wackrow, and fully 500 people were present. The Ohura portion of Taurnarunui electorate is being visited by the member, Mr W. T. Jennings, who has addressed large meetings at Matiere and Nino Niho. At Matiere Mr T. Hunt presided and the candidate received a splendid hearing. At the conclusion Mr T. Taylor proposed a vote of thanks and confidence, which was seconded by Mr Brennan and supported by Mr T. Simmons, who said he had voted against Mr Jennings last election, but wouid give all his

support this time as an appreciation of'the way in which the candidate had worked for the district.

At Niho Niho Mr Dunn presided and at the conclusion of the address Mr E. Mosman moved a vote of thanks and confidence, which was seconded by Mr McEvedy. At both places the vote was carried with great enthusiasm.
