ROAD TO RANGITOTO.

AN URGENT REQUIREMENT. A deputation of Ranigtoto Improved Farm settlers waited on Mr Jennings at the County Council Chambers on Wednesday evening. The deputation pointed out that a movement had been made to get a surveyed road through certain native lands. This roan would be their nearest outlet to Te Kuiti, their place of business. If when this road was surveyed the Government would continue the survey from where it is now proposed to stop, for, say, about a mile and a quarter through native land and also form a small portion it would give them access, and they would then have a fairly good road to Te Kuiti. They proposed between themselves to make a special rating area to raise a loan to form the balance if a £ for £ subsidy is granted. Mr Jennings, in reply, asked the deputation to prepare a petition explaining what tbsy required, and ha would go into tue matter on Saturday with the county clerk. He would do his utmost to assist them in every way. He was afraid they were rather late this year, but, however, he would represent the urgency of the case to the authorities.

The deputation thanked Mi Jennings and withdrew.
